~Estate Find~ VERY RARE PRUSSIAN GERMAN INFANTRYMAN HELMET 1800's PICKELHAUB
This original Prussian Infantryman helmet comes out of a long time collection and is being offered for sale for the first time in several decades.
There is some stitching missing that originally held the bill to the top of the helmet on both the front and the back (see pictures) and we assume that it just wore away over the years because it is still attached to the helmet under the bill.
There is also what appears to be a replacement nail on the top of the back of the helmet that attaches the ornamental part of the pike.
We have researched this helmet and have not been able to find a picture of another one with the same ornamental piece on the top like this one.
We believe this is an earlier helmet that well proceeds WW1, and could easily date back to the 1850s -1880s.

You will have to search long and hard to find another original helmet like this in this good of condition and complete with the unusual ornamental top that holds the pike.
Also notice the round ornamental area underneath the pike that is a more rare feature in this type of Prussian helmet.
