RARE original German Army M16 transition helmet from World War I / II
Very nice original transition from M16 to German army helmet from WWII, many transparent layers of paint from many reprints, but all this is the original of WWI. A great example of this rare helmet.
You can still make out where decals once were before they get re-released again.
And again, a great all-round helmet !!!
This is the original World War I Austrian / German M16 Stalnhelm helmet. This is a very rare helmet. The helmet has pits, but there are no other holes in it other than what should be there. I looked for the manufacturers' markings on the helmet and I think I can make out where they once were, but the markings were sometimes very small and light, especially on large shells, so they could not be seen due to pitting. I also found the original green paint, so I'm pretty sure the helmet is original. In addition, the helmet has pitting corrosion, which, as far as I know, only occurs on very old metal, so I'm sure the helmet is original. There is the original green paint on the body, although 99.9% of it is gone. The helmet is strong, there are no thin weak parts.
