Description
First World War Prussian other ranks picklehaube, showing battle damage. The picklehaube is in nice untouched condiotion, showing crazing to the leather and oxidizing to the brass fittings. Chinstrap and cockades are absent. Both side of the skull have a clear indication of an entrance and exit hole, passing also through the leather liner. The original owner has wrote his name to the underside of the front peak. Regimental issue marking to the rear peak, and faint makers stamp to the inside of the skull along with a date which appears to be “1918”. A very poignant piece.COPYRIGHT
