This bayonet mounting base is for an ersatz mortarboard top is a rare and interesting variant of the M1915 steel mortarboards issued to enlisted men of the Kaiser's ulan regiments. This piece has been made to exacting standards in exactly the same way as required by the Kaiser's Army during WW1.
It has been painstakingly reproduced from an original and is correct in every detail.
Its circular, steel mounting plate is drilled to accomodate four mounting bolts.
